All Smiles
Graham celebrated his five week birthday by smiling at Mommy (twice!) for the first time. Unfortunately, Daddy wasn't witness to it so had his doubts about it until he was the recipient of a couple smiles on Sunday. Graham thinks we're crazy as we spent most of the rest of the day trying to get a few more out of him. All Graham was interested in was looking at lights, sleeping, and eating, of course! He really enjoys staring at the Christmas tree, and whatever other lamp, light, or reflection he catches a glimpse of. He holds his head up quite well when he's vertical, and is doing better from a horizontal position, but he tires of trying pretty quickly. It's taken us awhile, but have finally figured out that he likes to be very warm - he is much happier wrapped in a couple of blankets (one is never enough), and with the new electric heater we purchased for his room. Yes - his room - although he hasn't slept in his room since before his surgery. He sleeps cozied into his carseat lined with blankets on the floor of Mom & Dad's room. I keep saying "next week we'll try putting him back in his crib...", but then there was surgery, and then there was surgery recovery, and this week it's a red looking incision... maybe in the new year ;). Craig now calls Graham's room "Graham's Private Changing Area."
Everything says you can't spoil a newborn! Here's a couple more pics of our little guy sleeping, getting ready for a hike (no, his legs are not really that long), & hanging out with Daddy...
